American actor and musician Awkwafina debuted with sly rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comedic perspective before broadening her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens.
